EDITOR\u2019S NOTE<\/h2>

Dear Reader, Before you is the eighth edition of the annual publication INSPIRATIONS, a collection of works by the Literary Circle GOLDEN PEN OF SWITZERLAND. This anthology was conceived as an idea I gave birth to in January of this year in New York, at the Tesla Scientific Conference. I received an invitation from the organizers to come to Philadelphia in July, when a major event will take place: the celebration of 250 years since the founding of the United States of America and, at the same time, 170 years since the birth of Nikola Tesla.<\/p>

Yes, I am coming \u2013 not alone, but together with all our writers who are members of the Golden Pen of Switzerland. In response to the public call to dedicate this year\u2019s anthology to our Tesla, a giant among men, numerous poets answered, as well as people from various other walks of life. Thus, before you is a comprehensive portrayal of what we call Tesla\u2019s people.<\/p>

As in previous years, this annual publication offers something for everyone \u2013 from prose and poetry for adults to works for children, in several languages \u2013 because Tesla is an inspiration. Serbian Cyrillic script is also present, making this an excellent read for our youngest readers living in the diaspora who attend Serbian supplementary schools.<\/p>

In the Swiss National Library in Bern, we have a department called SERBICA, where we deposit our INSPIRATIONS and all other published books by our members. One day, a researcher may wish to study the Serbian people in the diaspora and our culture. That is where they will find us.<\/p>

To the pride of the Serbian people and their descendants, this stands as proof that we were a nation of culture and of our Orthodox faith while living in a foreign land.<\/p>

This year as well, we stand with our genius Nikola Tesla and his imperishable works for the benefit of humanity \u2013 today and tomorrow.<\/p>

This collection was not created as an attempt at canonization, nor as a strict anthology demanding an equally high level of achievement from every contribution. Above all, it is a testimony\u2013 to the enduring presence of Nikola Tesla\u2019s name, to the power of his work, and to the need to return to it again and again, from different perspectives. The occasion for gathering the authors is a great jubilee \u2013 170 years since the birth of a man whose ideas became the foundation of the civilization in which we live. Yet the essential reason for this volume lies deeper: in the lasting inspiration that Tesla continues to evoke.<\/p>

The authors brought together in this book come from different countries, cultural environments, and life circumstances, but they are united by a shared origin and a sense of belonging to the same spiritual and cultural space. It is precisely this diversity of voices, themes, and approaches that gives the collection its vitality. The uneven quality of individual works is not its shortcoming, but rather a reflection of the very nature of such endeavors \u2013 openness, inclusiveness, and a sincere desire to participate in honoring a great name. This is not a competition, but a gathering.<\/p>

Nikola Tesla was not only a scientist of extraordinary talent; he was also a man of profound spirituality, a reader, a thinker, and a connoisseur of literature. From books he drew ideas, moral guidance, and inner discipline, and his scientific intuition was often guided by that which cannot be reduced to a formula. It is therefore no coincidence that we return to Tesla through the literary word as well. Literature, as a space of freedom, symbol, and thought, enables us to understand not only what Tesla created, but also why his work remains alive.<\/p>

The Serbian people rightly feel pride in Nikola Tesla. This pride, however, is not based solely on shared origin, but also on an awareness of the responsibility such a legacy entails. To invoke Tesla means to recall the values of knowledge, work, perseverance, and a vision of the future. This collection is one way of preserving and transmitting that memory \u2013 not as myth, but as a living impulse.<\/p>

If this book encourages the reader to return to Tesla\u2019s work, to take into their hands a book that Tesla himself once read, or to reflect on the power of an idea that changes the world, then its purpose has been fulfilled.
