THE STORM IN THE EYES OF THE SUFFERING is a novel about the horrors of war, the disbelief, fear, humiliation. It is a novel about the suffering of a people on a biblical scale where the tales flow spontancously as if they are on the screen.

The literary skills of Milka Kajganić are reflected in the easy manner she glides through the dense forest of events and characters.

She writes with a sort of focused poise and calmness – attempting to reassure the reader that the evil shall pass: little Marko is born in the line of refugees – a sure sign that there will be life in Krajina; love is born between beautiful Mira and a Swedish man Lars – a sign that love conquers all as it is godsend.

Milka Kajganić wrote a good and exciting novel, dense with events and memories of 1995, with powerful dramatic feel to it which leaves the readers breathless.
